SciArt is gaining recognition as a driving force in exploring the intersections of art, science, and innovation. In 2025, the initiative presented its work at several high-profile international events, showcasing the creative and scientific processes behind SciArt collaborations.
- A keynote at the Water Innovation Lab in the Azores highlighted how SciArt fosters innovation by blending artistic practice with scientific research, inviting audiences to rethink approaches to water and environmental challenges.
- At the Art & Science Days in Leiden, held at Museum De Lakenhal, SciArt participated in the symposium “Beyond the Canvas: Exploring Art-Science Collaborations” , with a panel featuring Tere Badia (Hacte), Veronika Liebl (Ars Electronica), and Caterina Benincasa (JRC SciArt), moderated by Lucas Evers (WAAG). - SciArt also presented at Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria, the leading international festival on art, technology, and society, which drew over 122,000 visitors this year. The presentation, part of Present and Future Culture Stacks, focused on the innovative processes of SciArt at JRC and the essay published in Nature. Watch the presentation video.
- At the FLOAT conference in Norway, SciArt explored art-science-policy and ecological intersections through the FLOAT | Kunst i Innlandet project, sharing examples from the NaturArchy programme and highlighting the role of art-science in policy engagement.
- Finally, SciArt was featured at the EU Parliament in the Art, Science and Innovation event, participating in the panel “Crafting the Bridge of Tomorrow”, alongside Ambra Trotto (EIT Culture and Creativity), Barbara Stacher (DG EAC), and moderated by Veronika Liebl (Ars Electronica). The discussion emphasised how art-science collaborations can bridge research, policy, and society.
Through these events, SciArt demonstrates how artistic and scientific collaboration can inspire innovation, foster international dialogue, and address societal and environmental challenges on a global stage.
