Looking for stories of Contaminated Water | Haunted Waters production update

Help us hunt for the ghost contaminants in the waters! 

As part of their art-science project, Haunted Waters - which is being developed in the framework of NaturArchy in collaboration with Caterina Cacciatori and the JRC water quality lab - artist collective Nonhuman Nonsense are collecting stories, histories and material evidence from all over the world about waterbodies that are “haunted” by chemical contamination. 

In this way they aim to employ the work of the JRC project “Gems of Water”, connecting advanced methods of water quality monitoring to citizens of local communities, but also bring science, mythologies and cultural histories closer together. And they need your help!! 

They are collecting contaminated water for a ghostly archive of chemical cocktails to be shown at the exhibition. We would be grateful to receive water samples from you. You can use any transparent bottle available (can be a bottle from a local drink) max 1.5L. Please send the water to:
