NaturArchy Residencies: Politics in Disguise @ JRC Brussels

What are the politics of the earth systems? How did values develop in and around us, that inform those politics?

Can we learn from our surroundings how to make policies that take on responsibilities for molecules as well as humans?

Find out more with Claus Schöning, in residence from the 17/04 to the 21/04 at the JRC in Brussels, working with Julian Keimer (Knowledge Management for Policy) on their project Politics in Disguise.

How can we imagine a politics of the non-human?

The project wants to explore methods to integrate non-human values and identities into policy making, scientifically and performatively, resulting in a high-quality cinematic experience which sees non-human entities as the protagonists in policymaking.

How could a mushroom behave in the process of policy making? How would animals argue for their values?

Knowledge from policy analysis, evolutionary and behavioural biology and ecology will be focused in a multi species performative attempt to vitalise the spaces of human politics for a sustainable future.

Claus will be presenting his work on Friday 21st April AM. The presentation will be hybrid in format and Webex attendance will be possible, details to be confirmed. If you would like to receive the link to attend please contact JRC-RESONANCES@ec.europa.eu.

This art-science residency is taking place in the framework of Resonances IV on NaturArchy: Towards a Natural Contract.
